If not, move on. Are the staff members genuinely friendly, caring, skilled, professional care givers and nurses? Do they have the necessary expertise and qualifications? Once you answer these questions, you’ll be better able to narrow down your choice for a proper convalescent home, retirement home, condominium, or assisted senior living facility, one your loved one will love. Whether your loved one suffers from stroke or other long term medical illness, be sure to choose a nursing and elderly convalescent facility or apartment that will help in assisting the patient through the proper health programs, activities and facilities. Inquire if the senior citizen center or home is non-profit and handicap accessible, and whether it is part of a local, national or international entity.
